Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between Katholicos Ltd ("KatholicOS", "we", "us") and the Parish or Organization ("Customer", "you") utilizing our platform. By accessing or using KatholicOS, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Account Responsibilities

To access the platform, you must designate authorized Administrators (e.g., priests, parish secretaries). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials via our AWS Cognito authentication system. The platform is intended for use by adult administrators acting on behalf of a parish; it is not currently designed for direct interaction by minors.

3. Content and Data Ownership

Your Content: You retain 100% ownership of all text, images, newsletters, and data you upload to the platform. You can request the export or deletion of your content at any time.

Legal Permission: By uploading content (such as names for Mass intentions or staff contact details), you warrant that you have the lawful right and/or consent under UK GDPR to publish this information publicly.

Our IP: Katholicos Ltd retains all intellectual property rights to the software, code, templates, and design systems that power the platform.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use KatholicOS solely for lawful purposes aligned with parish ministry. You may not use the platform to distribute malicious software, engage in unlawful activities, or upload content that violates the rights of third parties.

5. Limitation of Liability

KatholicOS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Katholicos Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

6. Subscription & Billing

The Service is provided on either a monthly subscription basis or, where applicable, on a one-time or custom pricing basis (for example, setup fees, onboarding fees, or bespoke development work).

By subscribing to KatholicOS or purchasing any paid service, you agree to pay the applicable fees as displayed at the time of purchase and authorise us (and our payment processors, including Stripe and GoCardless) to charge your selected payment method accordingly.

For subscription-based services, fees are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, including where a free trial period (such as a 40-day trial, if offered) applies. In such cases, billing will begin automatically at the end of the trial period unless the subscription is cancelled before the trial ends.

For one-time or custom services, payment terms will be specified prior to commencement of work and must be paid in accordance with the agreed invoice or order terms. Auto-Renewal.

Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.

By continuing your subscription, you acknowledge and agree that recurring charges will be applied to your selected payment method until cancellation.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

Upon cancellation: You will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period No further charges will be taken after the current billing cycle ends.

9. No Refund Policy

All payments are non-refundable, including partially used subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.

We do not provide refunds or credits for unused time, downgrades, or account inactivity.

10. Payment Failure & Suspension

If a payment is unsuccessful or cannot be processed, we may attempt to reprocess the payment using your selected payment method and will let you know so you are kept informed.

We understand that circumstances can change, and financial difficulties can arise. If you find yourself in this situation, we encourage you to reach out to us as soon as you are able. We are always willing to listen and, where possible, work with you to find a fair and supportive solution.

If we are unable to resolve the issue and do not hear back after reaching out, we will continue to try to make contact over the following two (2) weeks. If we still do not receive a response during this time, we may need to pause or cancel your subscription.

11. Governing Law
